AFMC – Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam

Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam is conducted by AFMC each year for the students aspiring for MBBS courses. The college is situated in pune and takes around 130 students each year.

Eligibility criteria:

1. The candidate appearing for AFMC examination must be a citizen of India or should be a migrant to India with a definite intention of settling down in India.
2. The candidate must be unmarried and must remain single throughout the course.
3. The age of the candidate must be between 17 years to 22 years.
4. The appearing candidate must also be medically fit as per the standards by Indian government.
5. The candidate must have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCB and atleast 50% marks in English in the class 12th examination.
6. The candidate must also have scored more than 50% in mathematics examination in class 10th.

Proposed important dates:

1. 24-12-08 to 01-02-09 – availability of application forms.
2. 24-12-08 to 25-01-09 – availability of application forms by post.
3. 04-05-09 – date of entrance examination.
4. Last week of May – declaration of results which will be published in major newspapers and on the site http://www.indianarmy.nic.in/dgafms/index.htm
5. June 2009 – schedule of interviews.
6. Last week of June – declaration of final results of the successful candidates.
